Three Things That Are Different About Android Repair

Worth knowing before anyone quotes you, because these are where the surprises come from:

• On most Galaxy and Pixel phones the screen and the frame come as one assembly. That is why a Galaxy screen often costs more than an iPhone screen of the same generation. Anyone quoting you a suspiciously low price is fitting glass only, which fails.
• Curved and foldable displays are harder. An S24 Ultra or a Z Flip is a genuinely more delicate job than a flat screen, and a shop that does not do them regularly should say so rather than find out on your phone.
• Fingerprint sensors are often bonded to the display. On some models the under-display sensor has to be transferred or recalibrated, and a cheap repair that skips that step leaves you unlocking by PIN forever.
